One morning my husband and I were driving into the city and I was happy and felt good. For no good reason at all. I’m not a morning person. I stopped drinking coffee, too, so extra odd, right? Like any person under a transit of Pluto-Saturn-Uranus, I immediately grew suspicious of this new positive development. “Hmmm, I’m experiencing unfounded optimism…” Goddess bless my husband when he looked at me and smiled real big and Jupiter-like and finished my sentence, “…and in spite of yourself!” “Have you heard the story of red delicious apples?” I had, but I said I had not, because well, that’s the way you do it when you’re married and no matter first or fiftieth time you’ve heard the story, if you really listen to your partner’s stories you will always hear something new. Gemini Moon relishes any chance to tell a story anyhow– so he excitedly launched into a delightful ditty about the discovery of red delicious apples.

My delectable friend Sofia facebook’d me this morning…Y’know the pomegranate ritual? It’s too effective. I’ve been celibate for 10 months; is there something or a ritual to do to reverse it? PLEASE say yes!
The pomegranate ritual is one I created because I relied far too much on that wonderful shimmery sexual chemistry as a qualifying factor for a partner. Then I figured out was really going: I was re-enacting a cycle of low self-esteem and wounding; I figured sexual desire was enough of a basis to begin a partnership, which had the effect of putting a sticky “I’m attracted to you” haze over everything, confusing me, preventing me from being comfortable in my true self, and preventing us from truly seeing each other. Obviously I’m not suggesting you disregard chemistry – but if you’re looking for a life mate, maybe initially (frankly, neither my sister nor I knew we were sexually attracted to our now husbands till after we got to know their personality and character. This is quite common!).

This is a repost from 2007, in celebration of today’s Summer Solstice.
Todos Santos, All Saints, in Baja Mexico is on the Tropic of Cancer, and it’s where I find myself this summer solstice 2007. How on earth am I at the right place, at the right time?! These 3-4 days around June 21, the Sun reaches his northernmost point at the tropic of Cancer, that latitudinal line in space where the Sun is directly overhead at noon. We are experiencing the longest days of the year, and the shortest nights right now. From now thru December, sunlight will slowly diminish. Read more

When at the tender age of 18, I first picked up Jungian Analyst and astrologer Liz Greene’s books at The Ark bookstore in Santa Fe, a dream was ignited inside of me to someday somehow find a way to be her. I believe in having heroes and heroines, people to look up to on our own journey – as the people, ideas, books we surround our self with tend to rub off in a magically influential way, or in this case a psycho-magical way. So over the course of a long dark sojourn with multiple Pluto transits, that desire, combined with a persistent nighttime dream slash karmic memory slash nightmare of trying to get a higher education and somehow being blocked at every turn, rumbled inside my unconscious, and I started to seriously consider graduate school, to finally get that degree in Depth Psychology.

“Beginnings are usually scary and endings sad, but it’s the middle that counts. You have to remember this when you find yourself at the beginning.” – Sandra Bullock, Venus in Gemini
“I’m just a natural flirt, but I don’t see it in a sexual way. A lot of the time I’m like an overexcited puppy.” -Kylie Minogue, Venus in Gemini
“I always wanted to be a character in a book…like the adventures I devoured as a kid.” - Maria Bello, Venus in Gemini
“I found my inner bitch and ran with her.” – Courtney Love, Venus in Gemini
If you were born when Venus was in the constellation of Gemini, the Twins…
Darling, you are a natural flirt. You know how to start a conversation with just about anyone. Whereas some folks avoid casual conversation you strike one up just to see where it leads. Each new person you meet brings something new to the mix, and when you’re moving from person to person and subject to subject you’re turned on and tuned in– having the attractive effect of lighting up that elfin twinkle in your eye and making you sparkle like the 4th of July. Which we find so charming. Read more
