Sagittarius New Moon: View From The Top

black-mesaI live in a tree house that sits high above our small town, overlooking a canyon. From my living room window, I can see hawks circling the valley below looking for lunch while in the distance the sun shimmers on the ocean bay. Removed from the bustling town center and with a wide panorama view that Mother Nature reserves only for birds, this mountain-top home preaches the art of perspective. I love it for many reasons, but the consistent effect it seems to have on others and myself is a sense of expansion. It’s near impossible to feel small and insignificant for too long when confronted by such spaciousness. It stuns you into submission. When life has me feeling tight and cramped inside, the feeling doesn’t stick around very long. Not here. All I have to do is take a meditative look at the expansiveness in front of me and I am drenched in the bigger view. [Read more…]

Sagittarius Full Moon Lunar Eclipse: Blind Faith

small still voiceIf you’re a sensitive you may be feeling foggy, spacey or tired this week as Friday’s Sagittarius lunar eclipse squares Neptune, the planet of sleep, dreams, spirituality, consciousness, deception and self-undoing. Neptune, like Twelfth House planets, is accompanied by that vague and fuzzy, dazed and confused feeling. If we want to nail down anything, a relationship or health problem, we won’t be able to. We can’t see very far into the future. Nay, we may only barely be able to see the next few feet in front of us. [Read more…]

New Moon Sagittarius: Spirit In the Air

The Sagittarius New Moon on 12/13/12  falls at 21’45’ Sagittarius.

Each Sun sign season presents its own opportunity to renew and revitalize the energetic principles the Zodiac represents. Sagittarius expansively pushes at the bound emotions of Scorpio Sun season and into the realm of possibility through the renewal of faith– and right before the longest night of the year. It’s no coincidence that we have our holiday parties and gatherings at this time of year, my friend remarked as I drove her home from our shared dinner, we need to gather together in front of the hearth, to celebrate, to draw strength in numbers for the coming dark winter months ahead. Sagittarius Full Moon Eclipse: Calculated Expansion

Apt for Gemini-Sagittarius season, both relate to spreading the word, I’ve sent out book proposals and getting lots of feedback. I’ve been encouraged by the fact that people are actually writing me back and calling – it’s a far cry from several years ago when my emails were mostly met with dead silence. I’ve been amazed at the diversity of opinions. No two are the same, yet all have value. This has the net effect of keeping my head spinning with feedback, advice, sound byte suggestions, opinions galore– a side effect of Gemini season. As we reach out, discuss, cross-pollinate and learn, opinions are not in short supply.

I’ve also had a number of what I’d call “gentle crisis” moments related to growth and expansion. As this lunation spans my Third and Ninth House, I feel like a flower who has in many ways outgrown her pot… and yet the next steps require careful tending, instruction, patience, planning. Gemini-Sagittarius Eclipses: Fresh Perceptions, Leaps & Bounds

It was December 2010 and my Gemini client exclaimed, ““Oh nooooo. The eclipses are coming – in my sign!” After barely surviving the Cancer/Capricorn cycle myself, I understood her foreboding. Eclipses are associated with uncertainty and the unexpected; they often mark turning points & crisis, evolutionary leaps and bounds made without the known safety net of the familiar.

Geminis and Sag’s: the Universe has wanted you to move forward. If you are either Sun Sign, this two-year period has initiated (or begun to initiate) monumental life changes. One Gemini girlfriend is about to have her first baby; my Gemini stepdaughter, Sarah, just got her learner’s permit yesterday, hurrah! A Sagittarius friend is quitting her previous job as a professor so she can move into expansive new career directions, and a friend with a Gemini Venus is celebrating a romantic victory. Eclipses bring breakthrough energy into our lives, and kinder eclipses like these proves not all growth has to be painful. I’m so happy for those of you who are on the brink of change! [Read more…]

Venus in Sagittarius: Gypsy Consort

“I’ve dated the sweet mama’s boy, the musician rocker, the struggling artist- basically a lot of people without jobs.” -Alyssa Milano (Venus in Sagittarius)

“The easiest kind of relationship is with ten thousand people, the hardest is with one.” -Joan Baez (Venus in Sagittarius)

“Ted needs someone to be there all of the time. He thinks that’s love. It’s not love- it’s babysitting.” -Jane Fonda (Venus in Sagittarius)

“Go big or go home. Because it’s true. What do you have to lose?”-Eliza Dishku (Venus in Sagittarius)

If you were born when Venus was in the constellation of Sagittarius, the Archer…

The fabric of your Venusian existence resembles Aladdin’s magic carpet ride: you may be the one happily flying off to Marrakesh at a moment’s notice, or taking a spontaneous trip for Mango Lassis in the next town over. When you catch wind of an exotic adventure or person offering discovery and intrigue, you’re all over it, because for zealous Venus in Sagittarius, the bliss of being made brand new again is forever and always just one more adventure, class, or romantic encounter away. Like an explorer conquering strange lands, exotic encounters with unusual people, places, ideas and philosophies make up the core of your romantic happiness quotient. [Read more…]
