Not everyone nor everything you encounter in your life is for you. This is a neutral fact. But boy, do we get confused.

I was reminded this while trying to order a dress, of all things. The dress was so delicate, feminine, delicious and yet trying to buy that dress was like attempting to squeeze blood from a turnip. Everything went wrong from square one. The customer service, the sizing, the returns and exchanges. Yet I tried again, growing more frustrated. Libra Full Moon: Spring Cleaning

We had a real estate agent visit our house this weekend and we saw our house through his eyes. Our 1930’s cottage is quirky in the extreme, and he was sensitive with us about it. Yet both of us replayed his comments for the next few days–from the assumptions that the kids painted the poetry on the stairs (mmm, no, that was me) to the remark that each room, unique in color and personality, looks like its in a different house. Buyers are looking for a unified theme, he said. The first thing we could do, to prepare for a sale, is to clear the clutter. Clutter? One of the very first big presents I gave my husband was a surfboard. He wanted one really badly. Surfing was a point of contention in his first marriage. I knew this because, more than several times during those first few years, he bristled with defensiveness at the possibility of anyone (me) encroaching on his Saturday morning surf time.
