Why I write.

JShepherd author pic smWriting allows me to make contact with my higher self. Period. Question mark. I may have a few ideas, but I have no idea what will “come out” when I sit down at the keyboard. I find that incredibly exciting. Writing is like asking the exciting question, ‘what will I discover now?’ and getting a new answer every time.

I’ve been writing, astrologically, since 2004. I’ve written about celebrities, love and romance, and combined both those in a fun celeb love match game. My favorite gig of all was ghost-writing horoscopes and astrology advice for a famous astrologer. Don’t even try and ask who that is – I’m saying nothing! I published my first book, A Love Alchemist’s Notebook: Magical Secrets for Drawing Your True Love into Your Life in 2010, with Llewellyn Worldwide. You can read more of my writing on love and relationship at my Astrology.com blog Venus & Beyond: Love on the Outer Planets.

Significant author and contributing author publications include (hyper-linked if online): “Your Venus Sign: The Alchemical Goddess Inside of You,” Venus reports for all 12 signs; Sex & Soul Mates columnist for Constellation Magazine, 2009-present; “Husbands & Kitchens,” Llewellyn’s 2012 Moon Sign Book, 2012; “The Big Picture,” WellBeing Astrology Magazine (Australia), 2011; “Venus & Self Worth: Venus Aspects to the Outer & Inner Planets” Astrology.com, February 23, 2011; “The Magnetism, Charm and Attractive Power of Your Venus Sign,” Sasstrology.com, April 2010; “How to Be a Balanced Mom in 2011,” Astrology.com, January 5, 2011; “Interview with Steven Forrest: The Magic of Intentional Relationship: Using Astrology To Have Better Relationships,” Constellation Magazine, November 8, 2010; “Venus in Scorpio Retrograde: Fierce Beauty,” Sasstrology.com, October 12, 2010; “Your Babyside Astrologer,” Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine, contributor, May 2009 (opens as PDF); “Get Your Wedding Date Right,” Saptarishi’s Astrology, 2008 (opens as PDF); “Who Is Ray Couture?,” Interview for Constellation Magazine, May 2008.
