stingSting: 02 October 1951

No matter your age or musical preference, set the tone for a romantic evening and pop on a Sting album – try Songs of Love. It’s no coincidence that he’s a Libra, with ruling planet Venus – aka Aphrodite, Goddess of Love. Love is Libra’s favorite subject; give them a lifetime to write songs about it, ask for advice on, and experience different forms of love. Through the heart aches and heart surges, the thrills and the sorrows, Libra grows and evolves through the rushing energy of love. Has Sting’s ideas of love evolved through his songwriting? Earlier hits flirted with forbidden, exotic relationships: Don’t Stand so Close To Me and Roxanne. When Sting went solo, his thoughts on love matured with his new identity. The song If You Love Somebody Set Them Free, envisions mature self-aware love as he sings “…if it’s a mirror you want, just look into my eyes”. The astrological symbol for Venus (and universally, woman) is a circle on top of a cross, resembling a hand-held mirror. Sting’s more recent album called Sacred Love, hints at the possibility for transcendent love; love that exists for Love, not another person.
