Saturn Transits the Third House: What Do You Know?

This essay continues my series of my Saturn transiting through the houses, which is, so far the twelfth, first, second and now third. I’m about 1/3 of the way through, and this is my current report. [Read more…]

Gemini Full Moon: Dark and Light

a woman embraces her image in the mirror

I was just turned away at the airport, from a much awaited trip to a handful of my favorite places: Vienna, Paris and Versailles.

The ticket agent was unusually spry, warm and caring, a person you just feel good around. A good person for breaking bad news. [Read more…]

Saturn and Neptune Have a Conversation

The connection between heaven and Earth.

There’s a planetary conversation taking place between Saturn in Sagittarius, Capricorn’s ruling planet, and Neptune in Pisces (square thru September 2016). The promise of this combination is integrating the divine into the ego. The risk of this combination is exaggerated fears and feelings of separation. Molehills can become mountains when we take our fears too seriously, leading us to a macabre picture of believing in a very scary “reality”. To lighten up, let’s listen in on an edifying conversation between the two planets. [Read more…]

Saturn Transits the Second House: Name Your Worth

Saturn’s transit through the first house, while a relief from the challenging twelfth, was far from roses and ponies. While my personal account struck a chord with many readers, more than a handful also wrote to me describing how much harder the first house Saturn transit was, than the twelfth, for them. The common thread for those readers involved feelings of depression, uncertainty and anxiety.  [Read more…]

Saturn Squares Neptune: Reality is a Convincing Illusion

Saturn in Sagittarius is square Neptune in Pisces through November 2015 (this will be exact at 7 degrees 11/21-30, then again, June 2016 -12 degrees with Saturn and Neptune retrograde, and again, Sept 10 degrees, Neptune retrograde)*.

As Saturn in Sag lines up for a square with Neptune in Pisces this month, there’s a conflict between our spiritual worldview, faith (Pisces) and our core beliefs about life (Sagittarius). As Neptunian glamour and illusion clashes with reality, we witness endless shenanigans (Donald Trump, for instance) and real suffering (the Syrian refugees crisis, etc.) co-existing side-by-side in the world. Life can all but seem surreal. Horrors happen in a corner of the world every day, in our own life, atrocities and suffering sometimes so harsh that we cannot imagine living another day…yet our stomach still grumbles for food, and the beauty of a rainstorm still moves us. Life is an absurdist art piece. How weird. How to make sense of it? Moreso, how can we make sense of the absurd, confounding and suffersome situations in our own life? [Read more…]

Feeling the Squeeze

Young girl pulling boat with boy in it to shore

Newsflash: “I thought a Jupiter transit was supposed to be good!” has been reportedly heard repeating across the heavens.  Like the Chinese parable of a farmer whose mare runs off during planting season (bad luck), later returns with two stallions (good luck), the son is bucked by the new stallion and breaks his leg (bad luck) then the army rides into town to conscript the son into service, but leaves the invalid son behind (good luck)… Luck is like that runaway horse. We have the tendency to think either something is good or bad, but no singular event ever exists in isolation. Maybe we need to widen our context about what “luck” is. [Read more…]
