Passion: An emotion that is deeply stirring or ungovernable; a strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept; an object of desire or deep interest; intense emotion compelling action
Your passion, that inner fire that so effortlessly fuels your life when things are really moving in your direction, is calling you home. Today’s Scorpio New Moon remembers your passion. Do you?
Or maybe you’re wondering where it went… Here’s my take: for the last 2 years Saturn was in Leo, a creative spunky fire sign – we were honing our raison d’ etre on a daily basis (Saturn). Now that Saturn’s moved into Virgo, the details, the details. It takes diligent detail work to make it all come together and the organizational expertise of an executive assitant. Gosh, wouldn’t it be nice to have your own PA? Harnessing the motivation to begin takes effort. Just look at that mountain of paperwork… over which Virgo procrastinates. And how.
Since Saturn’s entered Virgo, my mind seems to move faster than I can execute its processes in physical reality. My computer is under spam siege and mysterious system slow downs. I’m accomplishing probably half of what I think I should be moving through – the Saturn word, should – not very useful. I’ve been having the classic dreams where you just can’t get where you’re going, my legs aren’t moving or the car I’m traveling in has broken down. I figure it’s my subconscious working overtime on a new project I’m attempting. I’m not blaming Saturn for absconding with my passion, but it is curious how the “ungovernable emotions” so essential to passion are just so not Virgo. Every sign has a passion. Virgo’s passion is mental, organizational, methodical. In Saturn, discipline. Even passionate, lively Rome wasn’t built in a day.
An IM conversation this morning:
He: How’s your day going?
Me: I worked on the thing this morning.
Me: I’m sticking to the plan. I need to be disciplined, working for myself. No more moaning, flapping about not knowing what to do.
Me: An employer would expect me to show up. I have to keep showing up. (hmpf!)
Epiphany: maybe I’ve finally decided to stop asking my husband to kick my butt, and proceed to get mad at him for pressuring me. It’s occasionally good to kick my own butt.
Butt-kicking Mars makes a sweet trine to this New Moon, motivating our minds to keep putting real energy toward our goals, even though some of us will change our approach soon (Mars turning retrograde). Be tenacious about your dreams – hold ’em real tight in the claws of the Crab. Don’t let them go. You can use your emotions to create energy. Emotions, the highs and the lows, make energy. Put the lows into a broken hearted love song, or compassion for a friend. Use the highs to power through a goal. The food you choose to eat is energy. So both emotions and food put gas in your tank so to speak. It sounds simple but if you’re looking for your passion, do something, anything that engages you emotionally. I woke up this morning and put on a new CD I’m absolutely in love with – and I normally never listen to music while writing. The music had the effect of “waking up” my energy and thought processes.
Mercury is speeding up and joining the Sun in Scorpio on Sunday 11/11 which will give intensity, focus and brilliance to our beautiful minds. Venus has just entered lovely Libra, so our relationships, encounters with art, and changing up our personal style can all stimulate connection to our passion. Venus in Libra adores intelligence – she’s a bibliophile. Enjoy some new books. Venus and Mercury are closest to earth and will create an immediate social and intellectual buzz for us earthlings this weekend.
Inspiration motivates passion. In the spirit of Venus in Libra, check out the bone-chillingly beautiful music of artist Jesca Hoop, Kismet
. She reminds me of Imogene Heap, if you’ve heard her. I heard the song Enemy on NPR the day after blogging about the shadow. Then my Taurus girlfriend emailed me saying, “I just heard this artist Jesca Hoop, and she is so you.” Love that synchronicity.
Beautiful
Alone with my enemy
And share a bitter cup
Of poisoning
My countenance
To see his face in mine
And follow every line
Back to my enemy
You are mine
Pennyroyal wine fly
Like an innocent child
That followed every line
Back to my enemy
Beautiful
Falling fast from a state of grace
And trusting there’s a light
In darkest place
My dirty knees
Hold the ground till it’s done with me
I’ve come to see that beauty
Is a thing
That is without grace
You are mine
Pennyroyal wine fly
Like an innocent child
That followed every line
Back to my enemy
Beautiful
At home with my history
And run the scarlet ink
With the tears of mercy
My battle wounds
Lay to rest in a treasure box
And thinking of the scars
As the jewels of my story
You are mine
Pennyroyal wine fly
Like an innocent child
That followed every line
Back to my enemy
Enemy
Enemy
