JUPITER-SUN CAZIMI: What’s my PURPOSE? What am I here to do? And can you see that in my birth chart?
At today’s conjunction of Jupiter and Sun you may be asking the Big Questions, about what you’re here for, and what it’s all about.
Given the week’s odd Mars-Venus-Pluto dynamic of powerlessness/power, and feeling out of control of so many things, it’s certainly gotten me thinking about my own sense of purpose.
No one knows why we are here or what we are meant to be doing here (if they claim they do, be suspicious). Given that, your PURPOSE and MEANING can only be defined by YOU.
Here’s what I do know:
-We are here to FULFILL ourselves.
-We do this through a variety of experiences; JOY is a major motivator for fulfillment, but also sorrow, pain and loss, too.
-No two people will share the exact same Soul purpose.
-And how we define our sense of purpose and meaningful life changes with our maturity, awareness and experiences.
Here’s a story I’d like to share with you.
Earlier this week I “co-accidentally” (code for: hidden co-operators were definitely standing by) found this long lost photo taken 15 years ago at a Forrest Astrology apprenticeship retreat. Here’s the setup: You may recognize my younger self, along with the famed Steven Forrest, aptly a Sun-Jupiter born, who had just read my natal chart when he did something just magnificent.
He gave ME the mic. This wise and dignified man sat at my feet and listened to my story. He benevolently, because this is who he is, told me that he couldn’t wait to hear how I shared my voice with the world. He did this in front of all the aspiring astrologers.
It was thrilling. EMPOWERING.
(I mean, just look at that sweet face staring up at me).
…and since that day, I have authored four books and a Divination card deck.
I am thinking of this today because at various points we all need to have our FAITH renewed, in our selves, and perhaps humanity – also apart of today’s intentional configuration. Occasionally, we all need what Julia Cameron calls “Believing Mirrors”- people who remind you of who you are, and what you are capable of doing, even/especially when you forget that for yourself.
Astrology is one way to reaffirm your sense of unique purpose. When I’m asked this question, I look at three particular points in the birth chart, while knowing a) I am only getting glimpses and hints; astrology only glimpses the unfathomable mysteries and b) I am also leaving other “players” in the chart out, players that can detract from or contribute to this ultimate aim.

The North Node sign and House– your “north star’; when you stretch yourself to grow here, you feel joyful and on purpose.
For instance:
-my 9th house Sun and MidHeaven are in Cancer- I have the journey and Mission of the Healer, and healers, by nature, also need healing.
-with Venus and Mercury in 10th house, I have something artistic, creative and informative to contribute to the world.
-my North Node is in the sign of Capricorn in the 3rd House: being a Voice of Authority and Teacher is my joyful, growing, edge.
Steven knew all of this. He knew my chart and gave me such a gift. He invited me onstage to share my healing story, in my voice. He also knew my heavy planetary “detractors” …and I believe he full well knew the gravitas and magic of what he was doing in that moment.
If you are ready to have your faith reaffirmed, to believe in yourself again, to receive support and encouragement, to be reminded of who you truly are, that you can do this…Well… It’s just that kind of day. It’s a day to think about and ponder what gives you a sense of meaning, and purpose, and if you need it, what might renew your faith and encourage you along in FULFILLING YOURSELF.

Oh how exciting. This is exactly where I am right now. I *think* I’m inching closer to getting a l’il of that life purpose, but a little unsure, so I’d welcome your reflection with me.
My sun is in gemini, in the twelfth house and conjunct my ascendant and conjunct saturn (saturn is in the first). All of this is opposite neptune on my desc – so all this feels a bit upside down and muddled, like I somehow drive with one foot on the brake!
My MC is just in Aquarius at 2 degrees and I have an empty tenth house. I guess my Aquarius means contributing to humanity? I definitely feel a need to do that, but on a 1-2-1 basis, not a big group.
North node is like yours, in Capricorn. Mine is in the ninth house. I’m aware of a desire to ‘run home and hide’ that plays out; like I’m not ready to move away from my south node and grow up yet…

This is such a timely message! I’ve been feeling so restless lately, knowing that there needs to be more in my life. I had a dream last night where I realized that what I was currently doing was not what I wanted to do, that I could choose something different, but I was so lost and confused and frustrated and I couldn’t find my way. (There was a lot more weird dream detail, but that was the gist of it.)

Thank you so, so much xx I really appreciate your comments. I just burst into tears as I read the first bit about stepping into my authority. I know that inside but spend all my time helping others and putting them before me to my extreme detriment, both physically and emotionally. As I read your words I realised I feel very small and diminished, I even walk about with rounded shoulders and bent head. I feel like no one really. I was always made to feel that I must achieve academically in order to impress my Father and get his appreciation. Love doesn’t actually seem to figure here, although he looked after me well physically. My Mother was very caring but a bit distant and did as he said. I have since played out this scenario many times trying to impress other men, sometimes with unfortunate results. As for the healing and clairvoyance and art I am doing all those things but they get squashed in as and when I have time. Thank you again. What a great learning experience this is just reading all these. I started studying Astrology in my late 20s but struggled with absorbing and retaining it after getting Fibromyalgia. Thank you for explaining Ceres on my MH as I’ve wondered about that for years. My natal moon is at 345 degrees (balsamic phase) that I’ve read means “The sharing of essential knowledge is your purpose” which fits with what you stated about my MH…as it should be, right?

What a wonderful and inspiring story! “Believing Mirrors” I love that! So true how that can change everything. Also, funny thing, I had a dream about Jupiter and an astrologer I know on the exact morning of the Sun-Jupiter Cazimi (I didn’t know the Cazimi was happening but I guess my psyche did). It was his car and he needed me to bring him the book or magazine about Jupiter so I was attempting to deliver it. The car was hybrid and kept stalling out on me. I don’t quite know what to make of the dream except it has something to do with how I’m moving through life and how my life force energy is so often stalled and how I feel life is totally paradoxical and I’m “caught” in the middle not knowing how to keep moving. Anyway. I have followed you for a long time and love your work! I got a Moon (n Cap) report from you years ago…I need to dig it out again! Just ordered your Asteroid report. Big stellium of transits in the 12th house now – (where my moon and Chiron live) and 5 planets transiting in the 1st house (no planets in the 1st house, Pisces intercepted at 0′) Really feeling lost these days. Your answer resonated and left me feeling a deeper connection to my 12th house Sun purpose which I could never quite understand because it has always left me feeling confused about any purpose I might have in life – that house had all but drowned out alot of clarity for me…
My studying astrology the last few years has definitely helped in formulating more of an objective understanding of the 12th. I’ve always been received as a bit ‘different’… quiet, like my solitude and not quite fitting in anywhere…it’s taken me to my later years to have a better understanding of the gifts that the 12th house has for those of us who have planets inhabiting it.
And my Scorpio stellium in the 10th house has always felt powerful but I was never sure how that was to be applied in my life/work, and it was so lovely that you saw that about my vision around my art!
